While surfing around, I found an interesting site that I think anyone who is looking to purchase health insurance should visit. Jerold Nott has assembled answers to the typical questions people have about health insurance buying factors.
He explains insurance terms, has a list of Do’s and Don’ts and even some Nevers. He has a section about HSA plans and how they work, too. He explains how people can eliminate some of the risk involved with HSA plans by purchasing supplemental insurance.
I liked his list of state High Risk Pools. This is extremely important to some individuals and families that cannot purchase health insurance because of poor health. They need to know if there is an alternative to going without insurance, or instead, paying an absurd premium.
By the way, North Carolina will have a High Risk Pool in January 2008.
